Care Worker Recruitment for Research and Consultation

Thank you for considering partnering with the Care Workers’ Charity to recruit frontline care workers for your research, speaking event or consultation work. We appreciate your interest in reaching out and recognition of care workers’ invaluable contributions to your work. To ensure the success of our recruitment efforts and to fairly compensate people for their time and expertise, we have established the following guidelines.

Value of Care Workers: At the Care Workers’ Charity, we highly value the experience, knowledge and perspectives of care workers. Their insights are crucial for shaping policies, programmes, and initiatives that positively impact their lives and the lives of those they support. As such they deserve fair compensation for their time and expertise. In line with NIHR guidance we recommend a minimum payment of £25 per hour or £200 a day, in addition to all relevant expenses.

Administration Fees: As a small charity, we have limited resources and recognising the significant time and effort required for recruitment, we have introduced an administration fee effective from 2024. We strive to ensure this remains affordable and does not pose a barrier to engaging with care workers. To achieve this, we suggest a contribution towards our costs based on the nature of your organisation:

  • Recruitment of less than 10 care workers: £250
  • General recruitment for researchers and charities of up to 50 care workers: £500
  • General recruitment for private organisations, Trusts and Foundations and Local Authorities of up to 50 care workers: £1000
  • Targeted recruitment or recruitment of care workers in numbers larger than 50 should be discussed by contacting keeley@thecwc.org.uk

We encourage potential partners to contact us if these costs would be a barrier to engagement. We are committed to finding solutions that enable meaningful dialogue and collaboration. Please feel free to contact us with any enquiries or to initiate a recruitment partnership. Together, we can create meaningful opportunities for care workers to share their experiences and knowledge to contribute to positive change.
