Welcome to The Care Workers Charity Annual Writing Competition, where words become a powerful force for change. In 2025, we proudly mark the 7th year of this inspiring event, inviting you to explore the art of storytelling while supporting a cause close to our hearts.
About the Competition
The Care Workers’ Charity Annual Writing Competition is a platform for care workers, and storytellers to weave tales that resonate with the theme of compassion, resilience, and the human spirit. Over the past six years, we have witnessed the incredible depth of talent within the care community, and this year promises to be no exception.
Theme
The theme for the 2025 competition is The Future of Social Care. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just discovering the power of your words, this is your opportunity to contribute to a narrative that celebrates care workers and their amazing work in our society.
Prizes
First Prize of £200, sponsored by Access
Second Prize of £100, sponsored by Nourish
3rd Prize of £50, sponsored by Chew PR
The top 3 entries will be publicised in The CWC Circular, on our website and on our social media channels. Also the top 30 contributions will be published!
How to Participate
Stay Informed: Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for all the important news.
Craft Your Entry: Let your creativity flow! Write a poem, essay, or short story that captures the essence of the theme.
- Your piece of writing should be up to 750 words
- You can write a short story, poem, opinion or thought piece
- All entries must be written by Care Workers
Submit Your Entry: Please submit your entry via email to fundraising@thecwc.org.uk. Please follow these guidelines:
- Please attach your piece of writing as a word document (or similar programme)
- Please write Writing Competition Submission in the email subject
- Please include your name, job title, company you work for and the title of the piece of writing in the body of the email.
- Please ensure you have submitted your deadline by 5pm on the 3rd March.

Submission Deadline: 5pm 3rd March 2025
Judging: week commencing 10th March 2025
Winners Announcement: week commencing 17th March 2025
