The Care Workers’ Charity Launches Groundbreaking Care Workers Advisory Board and Care Worker Champions Project

Karolina Gerlich CEO says “The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC) is excited to announce the launch of the Care Workers Advisory Board and the Care Worker Champions Project, an innovative initiative designed to empower frontline care workers and drive meaningful change in the social care sector. Supported by The Rayne Foundation, this project seeks to amplify the voices of care workers and address critical policy issues affecting the sector.

Applications for both roles open on 15th September 2024, and the CWC invites passionate frontline care workers from across the UK to apply.

Two unique roles are available:

  1. Care Worker Advisory Board Members
    • Commitment: 2-4 hours per month
    • Compensation: £25 per hour
    • Key Responsibilities: Advisory Board members will participate in bi-monthly online meetings, assist in planning Professional Care Workers Week, contribute to wellbeing surveys, and provide valuable insights to sector leaders.
  2. Care Worker Champions
    • Commitment: 1-2 hours per month
    • Compensation: £25 per hour
    • Key Responsibilities: Champions will discuss insights from the advisory board, undergo media training, contribute to trade press, and represent the sector at key conferences and events.

This project offers frontline care workers an opportunity to collaborate with peers, develop professional skills, and make a tangible impact in the social care sector—all while being compensated for their time and contributions.”
